    Hard Rock Santo Domingo

I wonder if any of the Hooter girls today just identify as such?

    Hard Rock Santo Domingo

The food is not interesting and it's overpriced. The atmosphere reminds me of being in a museum. Hooters is another place whose time has come and gone.

    Let's talk health insurance!

I know, but I didn't see a list a clinics that accept it.

    Let's talk health insurance!

No doctors in SD accept it? That's strange. All doctors that I know of here on the north coast and at HOMS accept it. I have no idea how you got a plan that cheap(?). A friend of mine that's only 33 has a basic plan with Universal(no medication coverage) and pays 2500 pesos/month.

    Hard Rock Santo Domingo

Does anybody really care about Hard Rock anymore? Seems like a Hard Rap Café would be more contemporary.

    Let's talk health insurance!

Isn't Senasa fairly limited in the number of private clinics that will accept it?

International Money Transfer - US/CAN to DR

There was nothing complicated about what I said. Basically, don't use a credit/debit card with Remitly unless it has no cash advance or jacked-up cash advance interest rates and you'll save money receiving is USD instead of pesos. Pretty simple. Long story, but I only used W.U. for a couple...

    Let's talk health insurance!

You got a real deal. Cataract surgery with intraocular lens implants usually run $3000 to $5000 per eye depending on the type of lens implant.

I think you're referring to "DRperson(?).

International Money Transfer - US/CAN to DR

It was like pulling teeth, but, yes, you did. We now know that Remitly can be a reasonable alternative IF you're sending money from your US bank account and/or your debit/credit card doesn't have a cash advance fee and doesn't jack up the interest rate on cash advances. Either way, receiving...

    Let's talk health insurance!

What's so special about knee surgery that they won't cover it? Artificial knee? I think the premium is dependent on age(?). Once you 65, or definitely 70, it will go up a lot. I didn't see on the site how much a Senasa plan would cost?

    Let's talk health insurance!

I forgot to add I did have cataract surgery here, also - both eyes. $600 total out of pocket with the plan I have.

    Let's talk health insurance!

I just looked on my card and it doesn't say(?). I'm sure it's not the premium one you mentioned. I think it's just their basic plan but it has covered a lot of things for me. The only surgery I've had though is an appendectomy You definitely need health insurance here. You might be able to...

    Let's talk health insurance!

I have Universal and pay 3900 pesos/month. I do not have any medication coverage. For me, it just isn't worth it. The premium costs more than the medications I'm taking.

What You Need to Know Before Election Day - May 19, 2024 - #EleccionesRD2024

They pulled a fast one and stopped selling alcohol today, but I found one of those colmados you mentioned. The password was - Presidente por favor.

International Money Transfer - US/CAN to DR

There's no fee when you're sending more than $500USD and receiving in DOP - but you're losing on the exchange rate. I said in my very first post that W.U. is terrible when you're specifying pickup in pesos. You still have never answered how long it usually takes to receive your money with...

International Money Transfer - US/CAN to DR

I asked you that very question if post #88 about how you received it(?). Reading comprehension is essential! If you're sending $1000 USD and receiving in pesos, you're losing 1000 pesos every time. I prefer not to lose 1000 pesos every time I send a grand down here.

I wouldn't be caught dead listening to either one of them!

International Money Transfer - US/CAN to DR

The fee is 0.8% plus $2.99 or $3.99 when sending and pickup in USD. This looks just about the same as W.U. How long have your averge delivery times been? See how easy it is when you post actual facts and figures?

"Trusted errand person" - 😂🤣😂 It wouldn't be the first time a trusted person disappeared with a lot of cash! Or crashes doing a wheelie and then gets robbed. I'm in Janet's almost every day. Easy peasy. Thanks, but I'll pick it up myself.
