Billy Horschel won the Corales Puntacana Championship, part of the PGA Tour on Sunday, 21 April 2024. Upon rethinking his victory, he called golf “a fickle game.”

It was Horschel’s first time playing in the Dominican Republic. He went home with 300 points of the FedExCup and US$720,000 in cash. The golf tournament distributes US$4 million in cash prizes.

AP reported that Horschel ran off four straight birdies on the front nine to get in the mix, began to pull away with an eagle on the par-5 12th hole and closed with a 9-under 63 for a two-shot victory in the Corales Puntacana Championship. He defeated Wesley Bryan who on Saturday had finished a wild round of birdies and bogeys with one last birdie to break a tie with a 2-under 70, giving him a one-shot lead ahead of Kevin Tway going into the last round of the suddenly wide-open Corales Puntacana Championship.
