New U.S. rules require all dogs coming into the U.S. to be at least 6 months old and microchipped to help prevent the spread of rabies.

Microchipping has nothing to do with rabies, it just identifies the dog’s owner if it’s lost. I never heard of one with rabies info , must be very new. We brought our dog from DR 10 years ago, rabies vaccination was required even then. The only difference now is that then the dog had to be at least 8 weeks old, now 6 months.

Yeah well it does if you read the news :

The new rules require all dogs entering the U.S. to be at least 6 months, old enough to be vaccinated if required and for the shots to take effect; have a microchip placed under their skin with a code that can be used to verify rabies vaccination; and have completed a new CDC import form.

The US ran out of options to hassle people with Vaccine cards so they decided to go to dogs.........."Land of the free".....................
